Asilomar Toilet

(This one is for Gene!)

It looks like a freakin’ teapot. You pull up to flush. And there’s no range of flush intensity available (say, based on how high you pull up or how long you hold it) that I could determine.

I think a good rule of thumb for flushing devices is that they should require minimal hand/finger contact. So I’m not too keen on this pull-up-to-flush thing.

But it’s pretty… reminds me of my grandmother’s mint bowl. :)

Teapot/mint bowl – both are food-related, not really what I want the toilet to evoke.

I’m not sure the amount of skin contact is greater than the standard flush lever. But you can’t do the germphobic back-of-the-hand flush in this case.
